Cecil Roth (1899 – 1970) Zijn “History of the Marranos” staat op internet

Cecil Roth schreef vele joods-historische studies, zoals History of the Jews of Veniece, History of the Marranos (1932), A Life of Menasseh ben Israel (1934), A History of the Jews in England (1941), The Jewish Contribution to Civilization (1941), The History of the Jews in Italy (1946), en A Bird’s-Eye View of Jewish History. Daarnaast was hij hoofdredacteur van de Encyclopedia Judaica. Hij was en bleef praktiserend orthodoxe jood. Wellicht dat hij daardoor tamelijk weinig aandacht gaf aan Spinoza, wat vooral opvallend is in zijn History of the Marranos, waarin hij in het hoofdstuk "The Dutch Jerusalem" de Sefardische gemeente van Amsterdam behandelde.  [Cf. en cf. wiki]
